Japanese friend..? 14 3 7 (13) 25 1 22

One of my favourite pictures shows a group of young people sitting round a table all looking my way as I take my shot. For someone of but little consequence it is clear right off why it might become a favourite for I have so many such pics wherein so few people at table care to look my way as I take up my camera...But we were all of us strangers thrown together in one of those uni-sex hostels wherein boys and girls young or old all get to fill up the dormitories willy-nilly, so that no bed nights are lost owing to a disproportionate mix of the sexes.

But perhaps on this occasion it might have had something to do with the discussion beforehand which was to do with the troubles at the time in Georgia and whether any country in the west was going to do anything to help the poor people living in the region aside from expelling a lot of hot air..?

Well I can recall a youngish Polish lady sitting to my right who had just arrived in the country of this action with a view to finding work as a teacher, and also sleeping in the same 4 bed dormitory as I. Sitting opposite her were a Frenchman of similar disposition, a teacher of French, an American visiting the john but representing his country’s view, an Italian man an Australian man and at the far end a New Zealand lass and almost out of sight 2 more Aussies sitting on a sofa… Oh yes and a young Japanese lady who was sitting to my left…

The Frenchman also occupied a bed in the same dormitory as I and the 4th guy an Indian doctor, who was visiting the town to attend a conference, who turned in early but whose phone went off in the middle of the night by a patient ringing him about a diagnoses he apologized for next morning.

Well a number of us exchanged emails and went our separate ways never to be heard of since, aside from the young Japanese lady that is who joined me for the rest of my stay in the town sight-seeing mainly museums working as she did with her art works back home so I understood.

And why “…of but little consequence?”  Well old as I am and just retired I tried to maintain contact with some in the group: Alvise and Cam for example neither of whom responded but the Japanese lady stayed in touch for a time at least until she got back home to Japan some months later when it stopped.


But I did continue to get people hitting Myspace to see the pics I post there and although the interest there too has dropped away almost to nothing I did have two visitors yesterday I believe one of whom left 2 profile hits whilst the other coming in later left only one but took the trouble to enlarge the pics he or she looked at which action also leaves pic hits, 10 in total, and assuring me I may be of but little consequence but surely that is infinitely better than being of no..? Have a good day everyone of more than a wee bit of consequence all..? hahaha

Which query came to mind just the other day as I started re-reading some old blogs from 5 to 10 years ago from the time I used to post my blogs on MySpaces..? We have all heard this expression and I expect those of us with a good imagination can conjure up in our minds what it must be like. But I do not fall myself into this category of person but instead in order to imagine what it must be like I have to experience something similar which is the subject of this particular blog... You see I have just returned from the dentist and her technician when at the beginning of the week I felt something akin to the condemned man on death row with his imminent demise rapidly approaching: in a very small way it has to be said but, nonetheless... When I last visited a Rotary Club Meeting...25 3 18

I was just 20 yrs of age plus maybe 7 months. It was subsequent to the 17th July since that was the day I first stepped onto Finnish soil. 10th of August to 30th of September to be precise, the time I was employed by Kymene Ab or Kymin Oy, the one Swedish the second its Finnish name.
