Sharing experiences w t like minded..? 18 12 18 (hit 11 x) again 25 5 27
Once again there has been a flurry of hits to my last blog which encourages me once again to put pen to paper, and if I also mention that in addition to some people in the US and Zimbabwe joining the group of recent hitters, someone from the Unknown Region, and possibly the same someone from Japan also may have re-visited, and that this time my list of individual blogs registering hits increased to the maximum 5 titles, giving me further encouragement to understanding what may be going on, to the extent I am encouraged to write another blog, when in point of fact with the imminent festivities attending this time of year, there are a million other things demanding my time and attention, but then...
But then I thought it an opportune
moment to write the kind of blog I wrote before my last one, because the day
before that on the 14th Dec I finished the most urgent thing I had to do,
which was to complete the digital photograph album before the time-out deadline I had been working on for
some time, using an online photo developing service.

Now this particular photograph album
was made with pics from the period 19th Aug to 31st Dec
2009 that is the third such album from this very special year for me: why so do
I hear you ask? And the reason is that that was the first full year I began my
retirement and when, via MySpace I had some well-known friends and relatives
following my posts: initially just pics with captions, but later on with blogs
too, in an activity I chose to call my Roller Coaster of Light and Dark…
The Light and Dark attended the sun
rising and setting on the sea in our particular neck of the woods with a length
of day which varies between around this time of year as we approach the darkest
day in the northern hemisphere of Dec 22nd and Jun 22nd midsummer
next year of let’s say a range of from 6 to 18 hours daylight and a
commensurate length of night from 18 down to 6 hours…
My objective when I set myself the task
of making a pic album was to confine the pics to a single edition of 100 pages
comprising around 250 pics which proved wildly inadequate, but with subsequent
years for a variety of reasons I shan’t need to repeat as many of the scenes
which featured in this particular year of 2009, but in the making of these
albums it was nice to reflect on the fact that with many of them I was able to
share the joy of their content with friends on MySpace and elsewhere.
Now, what I didn’t realise all those
years ago was that some people like to look at other peoples’ pics and some
people would rather read what other people have to say rather than write stuff
themselves, which over the years the word "synergism" struck me as having a possible bearing on the matter of these phenomena or activities, or those words I chose for today’s blog
title..?
This is of course pure supposition on
my part and I have no basis to believe it except to say that I know not
everyone likes taking pics and putting them in albums, nor is everyone
interested in writing blogs or reading blogs which others have written for
example, though the one might be popular to the exclusion of the other, meaning I
prefer to write blogs rather than read what others have written, and perhaps vice
versa? I only know of 3 people in our family of 10 people who write blogs
for example: my eldest son’s wife, my youngest son’s youngest daughter and me,
whilst more members of the family take pics and post them on either Facebook or
Instagram.
Finally I would just like to say how
filling up photo albums with pics from almost 10 years ago, and now writing
about it, has for me proven to be a most rewarding experience in the sense that
I have been able to relive so many fun things from the past, like for
example, having those of our grandchildren who live not so far away visit, and spend
innumerable days with their grandparents, whilst today they are all but grown
up, with far more pressing things to do in their lives, whilst at the other
extreme one was able to recall meetings with dear friends who have sadly
departed in the meantime for pastures new or who have otherwise moved on..? Have a good day everyone and if I
don’t get to wish you compliments of the season later on I do it now!

Today with the bulk of my other pre-Christmas duties behind me I decided to adorn this blog with a few of the pics from the 3 albums I have produced from the year 2009: the top 3 scenes from where I live for most of the year, and the last pic from where I have spent my vacations these past 40 years or so, the last pic special from 2009 because I had my brother with me for the last occasion we got to do a section of the Cuillin Ridge together, Britain's most sustained and serious mountain traverse...

PSS This day 2025 5 27 ... in a very different place to where I was in my life 6 1/2 yrs ago when I had good reason judging by this blog to think I knew the people, or at least some of them, who used to follow me more actively then compared to today!? Whilst today I am more pointedly posting for family members who one day will perhaps be more interested to check me out than formerly! lol
