Longevity, Pitkäikäisyys in Finnish..? 2026 2 4
The lady commedian in the long running Holywood series Sh*ts Creek just the latest in having her longevity termiated aged 71: life's great leveller maybe?
Whoever you are, rich or poor, famous or unknown, the termination of the human condition is where its at, come the day that has one's termination date to the fore.
And along the way all the other stuff going down: at no time in the history of the world are we as a group of ppl more aware as we are today through the media outlets, the social net-working platforms, books, newspapers, the internet, tv and radio, its all taking note.
Aged 86 I am becoming an ever rarer specimen in the sense that the older one becomes the fewer there are left of the ppl one used to know: get to be 118 like one lady, and you might get to be unique as the one living person aged 118! But now I'm going to pause this snippet while I go take my daily dip in the sea. These last 5 days, since the 31st of January I have been the most visited person to go through the ice into the sea each day successively and I have figured it is because i have little else I do except go for my daily work outs walking about 7000 steps in a morning taking in the Ladies' Beach hut, men's side for a dip in the sea, then continuing round the town to do the daily shopping, before coming home for an Espresso coffee, then, as today preparing luncheon. Wednesdays quite often it is bacon, eggs, beans and tomatoes, and onions fried, apart from the micro-waved beans and tomatoes, washed down further with a large cup of black or green tea, no additives.
Other ppl have no problem skipping a few days, whereas if I were to skip a few at this time of year, I fear I may not start again, as the shock to an unaccustomed body to freezing water, could be too much since one's blood circulation is no longer as good as a younger person's.
Then a second shorter workout later in the day just before dusk of say a further 4 or 5000 steps to conclude my working out.
But as my wife's Phillosophy lecturer used to tell them all, perhaps repeatedly because she also got to repeat his saying: "So long as you can say this is the worst, the worst is yet to come!"
