Gender Gap "Males" vs lesser "Females"..? 19 1 24 (13) 25 2 19

When you look at the distribution of male supremacy in the world it doesn't take many minutes to discover that women have a better deal in mostly northern countries like Iceland (0,878), Norway (0,83), Finland ((0,823), and Sweden (0,816), where perhaps women are more demanding of their men, but also in Rwanda (0,822), than most of the countries of the developed world, though still falling some way short of men (1,00), with countries like Yemen (0,516), Pakistan 0,546), Syria (0,568) and Chad (0,575) at the other end of the spectrum, and, interestingly, Bangladesh (0,719), USA (0,718), Kazakhstan = Mongolia( 0,713) somewhere in the middle, again in a descending order, midway between these extremes: this data published in November 2017 by the World Economic Forum. The criteria the WEF uses to compile their list of 150 countries includes wage equality, number of women in parliament and life expectancy of both sexes, with 0,0 being the lowest figure possible and 1,0 the highest. Above all I take the view that in no way can the woman in society take any blame for such inequality but which has spurned the Me-Too movement in the last year for example to give us hope that the situation world-wide is changing at a greater rate than earlier?

Straight off I have to say when I moved from UK (gender gap 0,77) naturally I too was somewhat prejudiced against women, not so much for their having equal pay to do a similar job like teaching school for example, but as a Manager in Industry for 13 years already I took exception to a pregnant woman having the right to leave her job and have it kept open for a year, until I understood that without such a law here women were not so interested in bearing children, when slowly I came round to sharing similar views for they made total sense… Now when I hear about the secrecy surrounding wage levels in UK, still to a large extent being disparate, and the fact the BBC can pay a woman only 1/6th the pay of a man for presenting a programme on TV, I am appalled. People are getting to know all this in UK because they have now passed a "Freedom of Information Law" but hitherto wage levels there were shrouded in secrecy whilst here for example newspapers once a year publish everyone's income breakdown...

And when I attended a lecture by a Social Democrat MP a few years ago and she related how she had been sitting next to a company CEO discussing gender equality in the Board Room, and asked him why is it that when certain companies introduced women into their board rooms and their company's productivity then began to increase, why the company didn’t increase their pay to commensurate levels with the males, when she claimed the CEO invited her to discuss the matter further once this dinner to entertain the foreign dignitary was over? I personally had to agree, women here too still have some way to go.

As an inventor in my job I have to say again how when visiting the Museum of Technology in Stockholm with my two grandsons, upon visiting the women’s section to do with patenting, I was amazed to see this invention of a rubber shoe for a horse when I got to thinking: Yeah only a woman could have so much gumption to think of that one, before also reading that even Vladimir Putin now has his horse shod with rubber shoes of this lady’s invention: more comfortable for the horse and more comfortable for the rider's ears! Hahaha.

Filling in a few more missing countries from the list of 150 are the following:
Ireland 0,794; New Zealand 0,790; France = Germany 0,778; Canada 0,769; Bolivia 0,758, S. Africa 0,756; Australia 0,731; Israel 0,721; Russian Federation = India 0,696; Mexico 0,692; China 0,674; Japan 0,657; S. Korea 0,65 gives a pretty good overall world view, and moreover helps me to understand the muddled thinking of Mr Trump being hell-bent on building a wall between the US and Mexico on the one hand, and of the Brits wishing to pull out of the EU on the other..!? For Japan the relatively poor showing, I blame squarely on the men of that country and have to think that it perhaps why Japanese ladies are not so interested as they used to be to give up their careers, set up home and be nurse-maid not only to children but also to the "salaryman"..? Have a good day everyone thinking male supremacy especially of the all-white Anglo-Saxon variety is long past its sell-by date, hahaha!!!

PS
More indices for countries which in the recent past have been represented among my BlogSpot visitors, if they have not got a mention otherwise: Canada 0,769; Singapore 0,702; Turkey 0,625; United Arab Emirates 0,649; Zimbabwe 0,717; Thailand 0,694; Poland 0,728, Armenia 0,677; Ukraine 0,706; Spain 0,746; Netherlands 0,737...a very telling list wouldn't you agree which has the effect of explaining much that goes on between the lines we read in the world's press.
