On the day of my conception 1939 2 26...2026 2 26

Of course no-one can be so precise about the day one was conceived but the actual day is of little consequence except to say this momentous event took place around this time of year at least from where I am sitting..?

Talking to my sister the other day about such family matters she recounted the year she was married on the 20th February instead of February 28th her first choice because our mother had announced that day is her wedding day, a full year before my day of conception I might add...Though Alice our mother had cause to blush in connection with some of these goings on when in another year she announced “Today is my Silver Wedding Anniversary”... the embarrassment to do with the fact someone commented how that wasn’t possible because of her having an almost 25 year old son at the time in addition to yours truly a mere 23..! A lost J to WW ll but didn't re-marry.

But one can speculate that maybe my conception may have been to do with the fact it was close to their wedding anniversary which they each recalled with affection one year on when any earlier embarrassment was long since largely forgotten..?

My little sister then who came into the world almost 4 years after me phones me or I phone her once a week and we fill up the years of our respective retirements recounting such goings on to one another, amongst a lot of other stuff about our great clan now running to maybe 39 different individuals..?

And interesting how parents put a gloss on some stuff if it’s the mother to her boy who is talking whilst the daughter of the same mother can get quite a different story for example if the talk is of children born out of wedlock, though in some circles the latter behaviour has become the norm in many parts of Europe today. So when our second son married for example his and his bride’s twin 3 year old daughters attended their ceremony, whilst my sister's 4 children and her 10 grandchildren were all born in wedlock.

I never had cause to reflect on my own conception before but on a day like today it is nice to reflect also on some of the reasons for feeling so upbeat about one’s life in general despite a lot of negative stuff going down in the world too. Have a good day everybody I hope you also have good reason to feel upbeat about the stuff going down in your neck of the woods..?
PS the pic of our family's house at the time of my birth and for the 3 years before my father's family home since being built earlier the same decade and remaining in our family until 2008 when cousin Bob moved out... possibly the house in which I was also conceived...hahaha..added later...

This blog last updated 2022 5 16 t day after my blog took its last hit from someone in GermanyI have cause to correct t date of my conception from my parents' marriage certificate which gives their wedding day of Sunday 26th February ,i.e. exactly 9 months before my birthday 26th November 1939!

Later still 26 2 26 Also interesting as I anticipate the arrival of my 87th day of conception anniversary and thinking for the first time maybe around this time of day 10 35 here with EET 8 30 in Manchester with GMT a good time for such activities I can say from almost 6o with my dear wife and now with children grandchildren and from Oct 2024 a Great Grandchild...Have a good day everyone!
